Evil Eye II
Organically-cast oxidised sterling silver charm on 14K yellow gold-filled bail.
This is a one-of-a-kind creation, imprinted on the reverse side by willow bark to create a unique texture of mother nature's fingerprint.
Traditionally worn as a form of protection, the evil eye guards against any negative attention initiated by envy, guarding the wearer from misfortune, reflecting back any malice or ill will back to its source to be transmuted.
Willow bark (Salix alba) is valued for its association with healing, protection, and the harnessing of lunar energies, given the willow's deep ties to water and the moon. It serves as a powerful ally in the realm of the esoteric and the divine.
Revered for its deep connections to purification and resurrection, willow bark embodies the essence of new beginnings and the cyclical nature of life and magic.
Unique and unpredictable, perfectly imperfect, made, textured & polished by hand, each and every offering has been energised by moonlight & quenched in local stream water.
Charm dimensions (including bail) approx. 12mm x 15mm
Technical info:
Oxidised sterling silver is a process by which the patina of the precious metal is sped up creating a darkened surface layer, which over time with regular use, will gradually polish away. The wabi-sabi aesthetic of being worn over time is beautiful to witness.
14/20 gold-filled jewellery means that 1/20th (or 5%)of the total weight of the piece is made of 14-karat gold, which is mechanically bonded to a base metal, usually jeweller's brass, using heat and pressure.
Although gold filled is not considered a precious metal, the precious metal bonded to the bass mental is much more durable than gold plating, making it a more affordable alternative to solid gold.
